HubSpot is all about making your life easier in one neatly packaged platform. At our last HubSpot User Group online event for the year, CEO and HubSpot expert Ryan Jones took a deep dive into HubSpot’s Commerce Hub. In case you missed it, we’ve put together the highlights.
The Commerce Hub is a great way to store and manage anything relating to your business finances and while not a new feature, we’re loving what you can do with the payment link feature.
The Commerce Hub allows you to handle the entire sales customer journey from prospect to client in one platform.
What is Commerce Hub?
Launched in the US in 2023, it came to other countries around the world earlier this year as HubSpot expanded the supported currencies.
Unlike the other Hubs, it has no monthly fee. Instead, you pay a transaction fee on each transaction processed through Commerce Hub. No transactions, no fees.
Over such a short period of time, HubSpot have really elevated what they are providing in the Commerce Hub and are helping you to be able to integrate commerce into every aspect of your business.
HubSpot are constantly evolving but currently, in Australia, Commerce Hub only has Stripe as the payment option. So if you don’t use Stripe, or don’t want to start using Stripe, it may be best, for now, to find other tools that are a better fit for you.
Get paid faster
HubSpot is constantly trying to improve the platform and give their users the ability to customise the system to make sure it works for them.
One big benefit of using Commerce Hub is it can help you get paid faster, and who doesn’t want that?! Firstly, it speeds up the time frame from getting approval on a contract to getting paid.
With the use of a payment link, there are also no limitations on when you can get paid. If someone has your payment link, they can use it to pay you, anywhere, anytime. Just remember that if you are wanting to use different currencies you will need to have that configured in your portal.
The payment link is one feature that leads with flexibility and customisation. Plus everyone in your organisation can create one!
What you can do with a payment link
HubSpot makes it even easier to create a payment link with templates provided to align with the service you’re selling… or you can just use a blank version. With the payment link you can also:
- Add your logo and brand colours so that it aligns with your brand
- Create disposable links that you can send to prospects for one-time use. They will be the only person that can ever use the link
- Customise your quotes and add a payment link that you can send straight to your customers for fast and easy payment
- Collect payment within a meeting invite when someone books a meeting with you to eliminate the back and forth communication
- Create subscriptions with your payment link included
Think outside the box when it comes to how you could use the payment link. If you have a product, you can now add that to a product library and sell it, all within the HubSpot platform through the use of a payment link. And all without needing a typical shopping cart.
Add it to your website, use it in a social post to sell a product, or email to clients that require payment. Simply put, you can create a link for payment that can be used anywhere.
Easy and convenient approach to sales
Using HubSpot payment links means you can manage all your finances in one spot. You can simplify the way you ask for payments and not have to work with multiple platforms or build anything out in Stripe (if that’s the system you use), for example.
There are also a number of payment based workflow triggers, so once someone has paid for example, that you can use in your workflows. This is another way to minimise thought when it comes to payments and work to automate as much of your business as possible. Once the client has paid they can then move on to the next step in the workflow. A faster path to value.
If you are a subscription-based business, then Commerce Hub could be exactly what you are after. It will create a subscription in Stripe and automatically take regular payments, which you can set as monthly or annually. When billing starts is something that can also be customised to suit your billing schedules.
You can also include commerce modules on your website which makes it even easier for businesses that need to take payment on their website to do so. HubSpot Commerce Hub helps to put the sales part of your business at the forefront.
Finally, the sales component of the deals pipeline is not something that is new but it is something that is useful to consider. Here, you can add line items, create payment schedules, choose online payments and use e-signatures. Being able to have direct debit as a payment option is something new that has been added to the Commerce Hub.
